Compassionate Ketamine Therapy in a Safe, Guided Setting
This work is led by me as a licensed therapist with specialized training in somatic and psychedelic therapy, supporting adults navigating complex psychiatric disorders and other mental health conditions. I keep the process clear and well structured so you understand what is happening, why it matters, and what choices are available at each step.
Because ketamine treatment can open emotions and body sensations quickly, the setting and professional support matter. I stay present throughout the session to help you track what is coming up, regulate intensity, and stay within a manageable range of experience under professional medical guidance.
If you are in Broomfield or nearby communities, you can start with a simple consultation. We will talk through your goals, your concerns, and whether this approach feels like a good fit.
What Ketamine Therapy Is and How It Works
Ketamine is a medication that has been used in medical settings for decades, originally as an anesthetic and now explored for its therapeutic benefits in certain mental health conditions. It is FDA-approved for anesthesia and is also used off-label in mental health care under professional medical guidance, which is why careful screening and oversight are essential.
Ketamine works differently than many antidepressant medications, which often target serotonin and can take weeks to impact depressive symptoms.
It primarily affects the brain’s glutamate system and may support neuroplasticity, which can soften rigid mental and emotional patterns and help alleviate symptoms in severe depression and related conditions.
Clinical research reflects this potential.
Randomized controlled trials have shown that ketamine may reduce PTSD symptom severity and rapidly decrease severe suicidal ideation compared with controls when used with careful screening and safety planning.
These findings help explain its use within structured, therapeutic settings rather than as a standalone treatment or medication-only approach.
A few important things to
know up front:
This is medical, not recreational.
Ketamine is prescribed by licensed medical professionals after medical and psychological screening.
The medicine supports therapy, but does not replace it.
Sessions focus on sensations, emotions, and memories with careful pacing and guidance from a licensed therapist and coordination with medical professionals.
HOW THIS APPROACH DIFFERS
From Ketamine Clinics or Medication-Only Models
Some ketamine models focus mostly on the medication experience. In ketamine assisted somatic therapy, the focus is on what you do with the opening the medicine provides. I guide the session so your attention stays connected to the body, emotions, and nervous system responses, not just thoughts or insights.
You are not left alone to figure it out. A trained therapist is present throughout to help you stay grounded, work with intensity if it rises, and track what your body is communicating. Integration is also part of the plan, so changes can carry into daily life instead of fading after the session.
This approach is often chosen by people who want more than symptom relief. They want a supported process that helps the nervous system shift patterns that have been stuck for a long time.
Who May Benefit From Ketamine Assisted Somatic Therapy
Ketamine-assisted therapy may be a good fit for adults who want a deeper, body-based approach, especially when other supports have not fully helped.
People often explore this work for:
Treatment-resistant or severe depression, including major depressive disorder and persistent depressive symptoms
Anxiety disorders that feel persistent, physically driven, or resistant to other treatments
Post traumatic stress disorder or trauma responses that continue to show up in the body
Chronic stress, burnout, or feeling constantly on edge
Emotional numbness, shutdown, or dissociation
Feeling stuck despite years of talk therapy and self-work
Eligibility depends on both medical and psychological screening, so the first step is a conversation and a careful review.
What to Expect During a Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Session
Sessions are structured, supportive, and paced to your nervous system. You remain conscious and aware, and you are guided throughout the experience. A typical process looks like this:
Consultation and fit check
We talk through your goals, history, and questions. If it looks like a fit, we discuss next steps and coordination.
Medical prescribing and screening
Ketamine is prescribed by an external licensed medical provider who evaluates whether it is appropriate for you.
Preparation session
We clarify intentions, review safety planning, and talk through what the experience can feel like, including how we handle intensity.
Ketamine-assisted therapy session
You take a prescribed sublingual dose as directed. I remain present throughout, guiding somatic tracking, breath, and regulation as sensations, emotions, or memories arise.
Closing and grounding
We slow down before ending, help your system settle, and make sure you feel oriented before you leave.
Integration and follow-up
We meet afterward to process what happened and help stabilize changes, with practical support for daily life.
Care Guided by Medical Oversight and Clear Safety Standards
Ketamine used in this work is always prescribed by an external licensed medical provider after appropriate medical screening. I do not prescribe medication. My role is to provide the therapeutic guidance and support during the session, in coordination with the prescriber’s recommendations.
Before beginning, we review both medical and mental health history to determine whether this approach is appropriate. Certain medical conditions, medications, or psychiatric factors may mean ketamine-assisted therapy is not a good fit. This screening process is an important part of keeping the work safe and responsible.
Some people experience mild adverse reactions such as nausea, dizziness, fatigue, or blurred vision, while others notice emotional intensity as sensations or memories surface.
Sessions are paced carefully, with clear safety protocols and aftercare guidance in place. You are never rushed, pushed, or left to manage difficult experiences alone.
what our clients say
Integration and Support That Extends Beyond the Session
Ketamine-assisted therapy is not meant to be a one-time experience without follow-through. What arises during a session often continues to unfold afterward, and integration is where lasting change is supported.
Integration sessions focus on helping your nervous system stabilize new patterns and making sense of insights in a practical, grounded way. This may include reflecting on emotional shifts, tracking changes in the body, and identifying how new awareness shows up in daily life.
This work can stand on its own or fit alongside ongoing talk therapy or medication. We take a flexible, collaborative approach based on what supports your long-term wellbeing, not just short-term relief.

MA, LPCC
Since young adulthood I have been on a spiritual journey of seeking for answers and truth about our greater reality. This seeking is ultimately a fruitless endeavor unless applied. My career is an embodied application of my learning. Healing my own relational wounding is my personal calling, and I am actively involved in my own therapeutic process.
I have been trained by a group of cutting edge psychedelic therapists at Innate Path in Broomfield, CO. I completed training at Innate Path in Winter of 2022.
I graduated from Naropa University in 2023 with a Masters in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling.
Originally from Arkansas, I moved to Colorado to obtain my masters degree and train in psychedelic modalities for the treatment of trauma.
